Shared Habitat Earth
The words “Shared Habitat Earth” came to local artist Barbara Eskin while walking through the woods. She reflected on their meaning, became aware of the acronym SHE, and knew that she had to act. When she reached out to the artist community, the idea behind it was readily embraced and spread rapidly.
The group's name, Shared Habitat Earth (SHE), suggests cross-species respect, intercultural solidarity, and a shared sense of responsibility. In the face of enormous threats to our habitat, it calls for action.
The exhibits aim to interweave art and activism, utilizing the works as a means to inspire viewers to take action, while keeping them grounded in empathy and humanity.
The 40+ exhibiting artists use their creativity to fight against discouragement in the face of the daunting task of stopping climate change, and the strength of emotion displayed is palpable.
